Our Sesquicentennial: 150 Years of Preaching the Gospel in Ennis!

It all started when…

Bishop Alexander Charles Garrett rode the train down from Dallas in April of 1875 to baptize and make disciples right in this wonderful town of Ennis. The first Episcopal service was held in the local Presbyterian Church, one of the first to have a church building in Ennis. St. Thomas was formally organized as a mission in 1878 and got a building in 1888. There have been many incredible moments from 1875 to 2025, and God’s grace all throughout!

We are very much looking forward to celebrating this big milestone with you this year!
